Where do your best leads come from?

Pull up your analytics and ask yourself:

  • Which traffic source converts to actual paying customers?

  • What is the difference between your referral conversion rate and paid traffic?

  • Are you tracking what happens after someone clicks?

If you cannot answer these in 30 seconds, your funnel is broken. I say this because I see this mistake costing companies thousands of dollars every month.

A Real-World Example

Last quarter I worked with a client spending $15K per month on Facebook ads. They were getting clicks and decent lead volume. But sales? Crickets.

When I pulled the data, here is what I found:

  • Organic referrals: 12% conversion rate

  • Facebook cold traffic: 0.8% conversion rate

The problem was simple. They were running the same funnel for both. Warm personal referrals do not need the same pitch as strangers from Facebook. Most companies treat all traffic the same. That is the misalignment problem.
