THE MOMENT THAT STOPPED EVERYONE

BK was literally driving across Europe. He grabbed the mic for 5 minutes. And what he said was worth more than most business courses.

He said something that stuck with me: "All the money you need is in someone else's pocket right now."

The question is — how do you get it out?

Not by selling. By connecting. By matching your solution to their pain.

BEHIND THE SCENES: WHY I FIRED A $7K CLIENT

Here's the part I want to be real with you about.

I recently fired a client paying me $7K/month. I've mentioned this before, but today's space gave me a reason to dig deeper on the lesson.

He didn't "get it."

I educated. I presented data. I showed results. But the misalignment kept growing.

Here's the qualifying framework I now use BEFORE taking on any client:

→ Do they have the right budget? → Are all decision makers present? → Is the timing right for them?

If even one of those is missing, I walk. Because I've learned the hard way that trying to force a relationship costs more than the revenue it brings in.

Choose your battles. Some aren't worth fighting.

THE $1M MISTAKE I WANT YOU TO AVOID

I ran an IT consulting business from 2003-2009. Made a million in revenue.

Netted $50,000.

Two mistakes killed my profitability:

First, I gave too many discounts. "Oh, that bill is too high? Let me cut you a deal." I was Mr. Nice Guy. That's not sustainable business — that's charity.

Second, I didn't collect payment upfront. Let invoices go. Let people slide. Was too afraid of uncomfortable conversations.

Those two mistakes alone cost me an extra $100K+ in profit.

Today? No discounts. Payment upfront. Full stop.

Revenue is vanity. Profit is sanity. Equity is freedom.

Stay lean. Stay mean. Never lose the bootstrap mentality.
