Pain gets you paid. "That leak is costing you $40,000 a quarter" is pain. That's the number that keeps someone up at night. That's what gets a signature on a contract.

If you're not pricing the gap in real dollars, you're not selling. You're just describing.

Andy, one of our community members, dropped into the space after being off the grid for a while (turns out he was busy closing an acquisition and securing funding for a new project, no big deal) and shared a persuasion principle from Chase Hughes' NCI work that I haven't stopped thinking about: give people two or three facts and let them connect the dots themselves. The news does this constantly. "A woman's been missing for three days." Pause. "Neighbors reported loud fighting the night before." You didn't tell the audience what happened. They built it themselves. And once someone builds a conclusion, they defend it like it's their own idea, because it is.

One more thing worth flagging: SBA lending caps just jumped to $10M combined, $5M for the business and $5M for the real estate attached to it.
